Children are encouraged to understand the need for personal hygiene and to develop good practices in health education. Outside agencies, such as the school nurse and other similar professionals also contribute to the children’s awareness of the development of a healthy body and mind.
The Governors have agreed that as part of their normal work in year 5/6 the children at some time will undertake a course of study which will involve some sex education. Parents will be informed when this is planned and will be invited to preview elements of the TV programme which is the core of the planned work. |
