Pick up a Penny

The Co-op in the Orton Centre is running their Pick up a Penny scheme again this year.  By leaving their till receipts in the specially designed box, customers can raise money for local schools.  Please support this scheme if you shop at the Co-op. All those pennies soon add up  -  last time we were given a cheque for £500 at the end of the promotion!

Miss Sandall's Book is Here!

Our very own Miss Sandall has had her first book published!  Birdsong is a colourful tale of noisy birds landing on the branch of a big tree.  One flashy bird wants to rule the roost  -  until something small changes his tune.

There is a copy of the book in the Key Stage 1 library together with a display including an interview with Miss Sandall and some big birds created by the children in our Art Club.  Do take a look next time you’re there.

Miss Sandall has both written and illustrated the book.  She is currently working on two more children's books which should be in the shops next year.
