The year 3 children have been studying Rangoli Art, it’s history, colour and pattern.
Whilst we enjoyed being in the studio using traditional salt techniques it was much more fun to be in the sunshine working with chalks on a much bigger scale.

The after school Art Club is continuing to be a great success, with 20 KS2 attending every Monday. The children enjoy exploring their own ideas and building on skills learnt during lessons. We enjoy their enthusiasm and are proud of their artistic endeavours.

Music mentoring

My name is Seb Gee and I am a professional drummer. I have been teaching one to one drumming lessons at St John’s Church School since February 2014. I also run music mentoring sessions for children who the teachers feel might benefit from them. This gives them a chance to have a short break from their usual class atmosphere and learn to play the drums and other instruments, or even just talk about their day. As well a musician, I am also a professional photographer/videographer. I have produced a number of videos for St John’s during my time here. It’s a pleasure working at St John’s as the children are always very enthusiastic and committed.
