Computing

Our philosophy is that ICT supports and enhances teaching & learning, offering all our children opportunities to use ICT to support across the curriculum.

ART&DESIGN

All children have access to state of the art technology, allowing them to access resources across all the learning, while also creating opportunities to further develop their computing and coding skills with the direct teaching of our Computing Curriculum:

  • can understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction, logic, algorithms and data representation

  • can analyse problems in computational terms and have repeated the practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve such problems

  • can evaluate and apply information technology, including new or unfamiliar technologies, analytically to solve problems

  • are responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology

All classes follow a computing curriculum which covers four key areas:

  1. Computer science programming and networking

  2. Digital literacy embedding ICT across the curriculum

  3. Digital creativity using computers for drawing and music sequencing

  4. Digital citizenship E-safety
