St John's Prayers
DISTINCTIVELY DIFFERENT
As a school we offer something different, a spiritual dimension to the young lives of our learners within the traditions of the Church of England, working in partnership with Christ Church to achieve this.
We are a place of distinctive excellence, where we value all in our community as individuals and God’s children. We share our enduring Christian values and we live them each and every day, at home and at school. We create relationships in which selfless care and Christian love are apparent to all and are felt by all. This makes St John’s Church school a safe and awe-inspiring place to belong. Our school is at the heart of the community, inspiring trust, wholeness and healing; a place where there is a welcome and hospitality for all, a place where great things happen because of our commitment to God.
The very fabric of our school is interwoven with our ethos, our vision and our Christian values underpinned by Biblical narratives of "For with God nothing shall be impossible", "You are the body of Christ and each one of you is part of it" and " I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit" – a school that is very much alive with the word of God.

ETHOS & VALUES
Recognising our historic foundation, St John’s Church School will preserve and develop our religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with Christ Church and Ely Diocese. We aim to serve the Orton community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.
We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promote Christian values through the experience we offer. We work, in partnership, with children, parents, Christ Church and the wider community, to enable spiritual, moral, social and academic growth. Working together in this way we raise aspirations, standards of behaviour and attainment.
