Light Sources

Writer's picture: Lucy KentLucy Kent
In year 3 this week, we began a new unit in Science about sources of light.

We learnt that the sun, stars, fires, torches and lamps all make their own light. However, the children were amazed to learn, the moon is not a light source and it does not make its own light. In fact, the moon reflects light from the sun, which is why we can see the Moon because light from the Sun bounces off it back to the Earth. The children had a wonderful time creating a poster showing the different sources of light.
