As theologians, Year 2 have been immersing themselves in the religion of Buddhism.
Through a series of stories and drama they learnt about how Buddha began as an ordinary man but then became ‘awakened’.
The children used this as inspiration to decide what they would like to change in the world if they too became awakened. They also learnt all about the central ideas in Buddhism including taking part in some mediation and mindfulness breathing.
A highlight of the day was when the children designed their own Buddhist place of worship with all the key features.'
