Welcome to Year 1
Your Teachers for next year
This will be my 2nd year at St Johns and I will be a year 1 teacher! I am looking forward to meeting all of my new children and getting to know them. I love history, baking and science, and I am looking forward to doing all of these throughout the year! I also love reading so I am excited to find out what you have been reading over the summer, as well as to discover some new stories with my new class!
Hello, my name is Miss Rowe and I will be new to the St Johns team this year. I have recently qualified as a teacher but I have been working within primary schools for the past 5 years. I very excited to become part of the St Johns family and teach within year 1. My favourite subjects to teach are Maths, History and Geography and I love to be creative so I'm looking forward to making our learning as fun and creative as possible. At home I love to bake, read and explore the outside on my bike. I can't wait to meet you all and hear about your amazing summer and I especially can't wait to start our journey through year 1 together, its going to be an amazing year!
After many many years teaching at St John’s I’m still very excited at the start of a new school year. I’m really looking forward to meeting and getting to know you all. I am very lucky to only teach phonics and reading nowadays, something I’m passionate about. I hope I’ll be able to share some of my favourite books with you in the new school year. I hope you have a lovely summer holiday.
My very first experience of working with children started in a nursery. I worked with preschool children to start with, but soon moved to work with toddlers for the most of my time there. Since I started my exciting journey at St John’s Church School I have met some of the most amazing children, who I nurture and watch grow and achieve so much each day! It’s the most rewarding part of my job.
I have always loved working with children. Since leaving secondary school I have worked with children of all ages in nurseries and early years. From starting here in Reception and moving into year one, it has been amazing to see each child develop their own individual personalities. Both children and adults have a massive sense of belonging here at St Johns making it such a great environment for everyone.
