Senior Leadership

I first wanted to be a teacher when I spent the summer holidays helping my dad in his school, getting his classroom ready! I would boss all the pretend children around and write on the blackboard loudly!
I have been so lucky to meet some very exciting people in my life and each one of them inspires me to be the best version of myself that I can! We have a wonderful school and I feel very proud that over the last seventeen years I have helped the school to be the place it is now.
Mrs C Firth
Executive Head

I started my teaching career in 2000 and spent 15 years working in a middle school before moving to Peterborough, where I taught at Winyates and then joined St John’s. After more than 20 years working with children, I now have the privilege of being Chief Operations Officer across our group of schools, helping to make sure staff, children and families have the very best support.
What has never changed is my passion for making a difference to young people’s lives. I especially love maths and share this through my wider work with the Maths Hub and PiXL, supporting schools across the region. I’m also a governor at a local through school where I work with leaders to give children in my local community the best opportunities.
At home, I’m married with two teenage children so I see school life through a parent’s eyes as well as a professional one. I’m really excited about the future as we continue working together to give every child the best possible start.
Mrs K Harwood
Chief Operations Officer

My inspiration for teaching is the belief that education has the greatest power to change lives. I relished all of my time spent in education, from school to university and now in my work.
I hope that I can help children to have the same experience as me and go on to develop a lifelong love of learning
Mrs S Ross
Head of School

As a young child, growing up in a family of farmers with a love of animals, I could only ever imagine a life of working with horses. This was until my secondary school maths teacher told my mum and dad at parents' evening that I would make an excellent teacher one day! It turns out that, if people close to you wholeheartedly believe in you enough, you do begin to develop self-belief and see a future for yourself which you never before imagined was possible.
I truly hope that my belief in the children of St. John's will impact on them in the same way, inspiring them to reimagine their ambitions on their journey to becoming the very best that they can be.
Mrs C Foster
Head of School

I’ve always wanted to be a teacher – even as a child, I loved helping others to learn and grow. After spending over ten years teaching in London, I decided it was time to come back to my hometown of Peterborough and bring all that experience with me.
Now, as Assistant Head of School, I’m really passionate about helping children develop a life-long love of learning. There’s nothing better than seeing a child’s face light up when something clicks for the first time. One of my favourite things to do is read with the children – the Mog books never fail to raise a smile!
It’s a real privilege to be part of such a caring, welcoming school where children are encouraged to be curious, kind and confident.
Mr S Marseglia
Assistant Head of School

I had always dreamed of being a teacher from a young age and would often play schools with my younger siblings so I am so fortunate that I get to live my dream. I have a deep passion for teaching and sparking curiosity in my students. I believe that every child has the potential to shine. In addition to my role in leadership, I enjoy playing netball, dancing and spending quality time with my family. My goal is to nurture not only academic success but also a lifelong love for learning.
Miss L Marriot
Assistant Head of School

Upon leaving the army, I was given a fantastic opportunity to train as a primary school teacher. I was driven by a passion to work in a school where I could make a meaningful impact on the whole child, not just academically, but personally and socially as well.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to step into a leadership role, where I truly feel at home. Here, I continue to make a positive difference and take great pride in helping to shape children into well-rounded, responsible citizens. Being part of their journey is a privilege—and one I approach with purpose, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility.
