Published Authors!
Thanks so much to all of the KS2 children who submitted their entries for the Association for Language Learning (ALL) calligram competition - I really enjoyed how creative and imaginative they were! Please find below the published ebooks with entries from schools across the country, including St John's! Congratulations to Kyarah and Lena whose work was chosen by judges to be published. Spanish Language Day
What an amazing Spring term we had in Spanish! KS2 children produced some amazing work, and even took part in a Spanish egg hunt during our Easter language day, as well as games led by the Spanish Ambassadors. Children across the school engaged in various Spanish activities in their classrooms - there was a wonderful Spanish 'buzz' across the school.

Christmas Language Day
Monday 15th December we celebrated our Christmas language day. Children across the school completed Spanish festive crafts, including cards and paper chains. Games were available at lunchtime where children could win much-coveted monedas de chocolate! The day culminated with our Christmas concert - we really appreciated the wonderful support from families, it was lovely to see so many of you!

Operation Christmas Child
Thank you so much for your generosity in sending food for our Harvest collection for Peterborough Foodbank. It was a wonderfully kind response from you all that has blessed others in our city that are in need at this time. Previously, as a school, we have supported Operation Christmas Child. This is a project that enables children to send a shoebox full of gifts to a child that would otherwise not receive any gifts for Christmas. We have decided to participate and send 50 box

Year 5 Math's Challenge
On Thursday 6th November, I was so lucky to take 4 year 5 children to Laxton Junior school in Oundle to complete in their year 5 Math's challenge. Despite it being very difficult, the group showed great resilience and courage to take on the maths puzzles they were set. They represented our school so well as well and came 5th overall (out of at least 15 groups). It was a pleasure taking them! Mrs Horne
