Midday Supervisor
I've worked at St John's for over 20 years now, I like being part of a team which is positive and friendly and where every child matters. Being a Midday Supervisor is part of that; helping to make lunchtimes happy and enjoyable. In the dinner hall I encourage them to try different foods and in the playground I organise and play games. To see and help a child smile, laugh and have fun makes the job very rewarding.

Midday Supervisor
I have lived in the community for the last 16 years and my children attended St John's in 2004. The school has played a major role in the development of their lives and boasts a caring, nurturing and positive environment for them to thrive in. I love working at St John's because it has a family-oriented environment, with all working together to make the school a happy place to learn. My role as a Midday Supervisor gives me many opportunities to be creative; do something new each day and explore new ways of having fun and build relationships with children. There is a strong, friendly and supportive team to work alongside, which makes my role even more enjoyable. I recognise that each day is precious and each child has their own individual challenges and needs, therefore this enables me to support, listen and help them to feel positive about their day. I have the privilege of working with amazing children everyday and it is wonderful to see them progress and most of all, have fun!a

As a child, I never liked school and could never imagine that I would work in one or go back into education myself! Things changed with my son was born. At the age of 7 he was diagnosed with ADHD and I decided to find ways to help him make school life easier. I started to volunteer at St John's by reading with children and working alongside the teacher. I really enjoyed it! I knew then that I wanted to help children achieve, no matter what the barriers or challenges were. Since then, I have gone back to college to gain more qualifications and now work as a Midday Supervisor. In my role, no day is ever the same. You never know what each day brings and that's what I love about it. We work as a team and support each other. That's what makes my job so rewarding and enjoyable. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it!
