WE FOUND SOME DUCKLINGS!

Yesterday I went into Longueville woods on our bike ride.

I saw a mother duck and seven ducklings on the ride side of the pond. The ducklings were huddled up together with their mum on some dead grass which I think was their nest. The ducklings all had different colours of yellow, brown and black. When I stepped a little bit too close the mother duck stuck her head to protect her babies.

The ducks made me feel really happy. We went back today to take a photo but they were out having a family swim.

A difference between a mother duck and a daddy duck is that a mother duck has dark feathers and the daddy duck has bright feathers.

Mallard Ducks live for 5-10years and eat seeds, acorns, berries, plants, insects and shellfish
